As it says if you forgo the money, all elected officials in power across the globe go into permanent Liar Liar mode. Similar to the movie, they will be incapable of telling a lie for the entire time they are in power.

They cannot speak lies, nor can they write them. Everything they communicate will be no less than 100% truthful.

This only applies to those currently in office. Those who have retired or are otherwise no longer serving will not be subject to the Liar Liar mode.

Money, you can easily lie without actually lying, plus a lawyer should be quite skilled at that (but then we wouldn't have a movie). I expect politicians to be equally skilled.

Hes not currently holding any office though, is he? If he were to be re elected sure. But as of now under that assumption he would be exempt, unfortunately.

Yes, because it's a children's movie, but there are many points where having a little bit of self control and some skilled word play (you know, the things politicians and lawyers tend to be really good at) you can get by without actually lying. Of course that makes for a pretty boring movie so they have Jim Carrey doing his typical overacting.

Every time he tries to get around a lie, he undoes it himself. It isn't just 'he can't lie'. He can't help but tell the truth. That's why he explains in specific detail specific things. The best he can do is accurately explain how he looks without saying fully 'it was me'.

Kind of hard to attribute that to the curse when he's overacting and being over the top even when he doesn't have to be. I just see scenes like the one where he's talking to the cop and think "Just say yes and stfu." That wouldn't even be lying and you're not confessing to every crime you've ever commited in your life.

I would take the money. World leader intentions are pretty much known already through their actions and nothing changes. So what would be the point of them telling the truth when we all see the truth already?

OHO, now this makes things interesting. But this deal ABSOLUTELY needs to include the media and bit tech companies. There's no point in politicians being super honest if they're only engaged by media outlets who engage with them beforehand on rehearsed questions and the times when they slip up, the stories are censored. Else, affiliate 3rd parties will be speaking for certain entities.
