Since I'm not making my sauce from scratch, I just drain my pasta water (don't need it to emulsify) and then just dump the sauce into my pasta. The heat from the pasta heats it up enough (and after it's been refrigerated, it just ends up at the perfect temp)

Just trying to save on doing dishes <_<

These are both valid reasons to do what you've done.

If you mean you dump cold pasta sauce into your pasta, youre just going to do what metallica said and cool down your spaghetti too much.

If youre putting like room temp sauce into your pasta, its probably fine because the temp difference isnt such a change.

The cold sauce would cool down the noodles quick

hot pasta + room temperature sauce = warm pasta.
good to go etc.

You could do this while keeping the stove on in order to heat up the sauce. Maybe dump the pasta water before it's fully cooked so that you don't overcook your pasta

You are significantly detracting from the potential deliciousness of the dish by not heating the pasta sauce before dumping it on the pasta. I don't know why that is so, but it is. The difference is like night and day.

???

it still results in a significantly better texture imo, especially if you're finishing the noodles in the sauce so they absorb some of it
