The first like 6 issues were whimsical but I wouldn't give them more than that

Sonic 1-3 (& Knuckles) was great
Generations was good.
Mania was good.
I enjoyed the old cartoons (even the weird one)

Does it matter if Unleashed and Boom sucked?

Doesn't change how kickass Sonic 3's soundtrack was.

To me it's like claiming it must suck liking Coca-Cola because then you MUST love Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Cherry Coke, new Coke etc.

Well maybe you do maybe you don't but if you don't, how does that effect Coca-Cola?

Sonic Adventure was really rough around the edges, but it was alright (other than fishing). SA2 was great aside from A ranking some of the side missions. Also it had the widely beloved chao garden.

The Sonic Advance games were good too. Mostly the first one.

But yes, it is sad whenever they come out with another train wreck that just alternates between shitty boost gameplay and slippery side scroller.

Sonic CD is OK the other two are trash and I haven't seen either of the Sonic movies and I don't plan to go out of my way to weirdly pushy guy

The only one I remember actually seeing on was the one with the robot and chicken robot guys and I did not enjoy it when it came on as a kid.

Sonic Generations was actually cool! a nice nostalgia trip!

Sonic Colors would have been nicer if it wasnt for those alien power ups. yeah, didnt care much for those... lol

Yeah, that one was pretty stupid. I have no idea why I watched it in retrospect.

Anyway, I should get some sleep. 6 video games isn't really that bad though. Would that Chrono Trigger actually got one decent sequel. And even if one likes Chrono Cross, it's barely a sequel so it's a bad sequel regardless.

Funny thing is when I first played Sonic 06 I didn't realize everyone hated it >_>

Played it on the 360, don't know if that version is better or worse than others than I completed the whole thing. Thought it was okay if a bit buggy.

Later online I heard about this awful "Sonic 06" Game and assumed it was a different game.

Dunno if I just got lucky but I didn't find it nearly as hard or find half as many glitches as most people did

You got lucky, hell in the Shadow glider stages you can literally just put the controller down as the enemies cant hit you, oh and the Sonic gems system is unfinished and the story is fucking awful even for a Sonic game.

IIRC Eggman changes from classic to Adventure onwards Eggman half way through it, I remember really liking it and will have to play it again.

But really, the 2D Sonic games are some of the best of their era and they've never really captured that perfect balance between speed and platforming since which is why 3D Sonic has always struggled. Plus, it's one of the few games my older sister played with me so I guess I have personal reasons for why they're special to me.

The Sonic Advance games were alright, but they didn't really do much for me. Never played Battle. Sonic Rush was FANTASTIC and I loved Blaze the Cat, probably the last "new" good Sonic character after Shadow and Rouge. Shame Sonic Rush Adventure were less than stellar.

I love the Adventure games too, but they haven't aged the best so I rarely go back to them lol. I cannot stand the Knuckles stages.

Sonic R was a fantastic racing game back in the day. Sonic and Sega All Star Racing 1&2 were also really good.

No one ever talks about it, but I also really liked Sonic 3D as a kid.

i have fonder memories of the GBA games, particularly the Advance series.

people keep bringing up the Genesis games and with good reason but those GBA games are hella underrated imo!

Sonic AM was good. They gave them cool characters like Sally, Bunny, and then coward French character what is kind of messed up now that I type it out.

Heroes was another one that was a little rough. Bottomless pits galore and your entire arsenal of moves was dead set on launching you into them. The stories weren't as interesting as the Adventures and the visuals were a step backwards from SA2. Also the special stages were some garbage. But I certainly enjoyed it at the time. Once you got used to the mechanics and learned how to fight without flying off a cliff, there was fun to be had.

Sonic 3D Blast is honestly a personal favorite. Sonic Robo Blast 2 is probably my favorite fan game ever too

True, I'd probably enjoy the Storybook games if it weren't for the Wii control scheme. Black Knight has an underrated soundtrack too.
