peopel hate that bezos bought the washington post. bloomberg having his own thing. its pretty clear that elon (if he does infact go through with this) is just going to make it a safe haven for conservatives under the guise of "free-speech", and blocking any possible critisim of elon himself, something he desperately wants to do

Because Twitter is an easy way to spread hate speech, and to mobilize people to harass other people, but twitters moderation and content policing became the best across all social media drastically reducing harassment especially compared to other social media sites.

elon musk specifically bought Twitter to change these rules because he believes in absolute free speech without consequences and in fact has used Twitter in the past to mobilize people to harass people. In fact, he did it just yesterday when he mobilized people to harass twitters content manager

in short, his goal is specifically to make Twitter a worse place

theres also the fact that Twitter is one of the most important global communication tools for news and public figures in the year 2022, and billionaire just decided he wanted to own that so now he does

but its not free speech, he literally had to pay for it lol, which is why the phrase being co-opted into censorship is stupid. Its not free speech if you buy a company and just change the ToS.
