ngl, I think I'm starting to feel the fatigue.

I used to look forward to watching the latest MCU movie on the opening weekend, but now I'm fine waiting a few months for a home release.

I still think the movies are entertaining, for the most part, but I don't have any particular interest as to what each phase is building up to anymore.

I also haven't been enjoying Moon Knight like I thought I would, and it's probably my least favorite Disney+ Marvel show, after What If?

Personally, Covid's been the only thing that's dampened my enthusiasm to see these in theaters. Take that out of the equation and I could still easily muster the energy to go to the theaters 3-4 times a year to keep up with the MCU (and it's still worth it for me to suck it up and brave the crowds for the major hype tentpoles like NWH and Multiverse).

And I agree in that Moon Knight is the first MCU show in recent memory that I don't have interest in continuing (except for 'What If,' I had zero interest in that).

I'm not a huge fan. I watched the Avengers and a few of the character specific movies.

It just seems like too much, too fast. They should just take a pause on new releases for like 6-12 months. I think the hype would be much bigger if they did.

Think MCU just needs to start building to something again. Everything post-Endgame has kind of felt like, not that important? Like the big story is over and they just have to keep going like a show that shouldn't have been renewed for another season. Yeah the stuff can be good, but its just, why is it still going?

They should bring out like a big event movie like Avengers Vs. X-Men or something, and lean into another big bad and they can build up to like Galactus or Doom or something in the background so people can be like "oh **** that's what's coming!!"

This is revisionist history.

Phase 1 was iron man 1/2, hulk, cap america, thor, avengers 1. Only one of them even hinted at thanos and he was shown for 2 seconds.

Phase 2 had iron man 3, thor 2, cap 2, guardians, avengers 2 and ant man. Thanos was in avengers 2 for 10 seconds and had some screen time in guardians.

The vast majority did little to nothing to further thr big bad.

That's exactly what all this multiversial stuff and Kang is all about. Back in 2010 nobody but comic nerds knew what Phase 1 and 2 were building up to. Nerds said "oh shit" when they saw Thanos, everybody else just saw a purple guy in the shadows. Same thing is happening know with Kang.

The third highest-grossing film in the MCU came out in freaking 2021, and I'd be willing to bet that the new Dr. Strange will gross over a billion dollars in 2022. There's very clearly a massive demand here that's not going away even if overall interest has peaked. Plus, they have the option to bring in the X-Men at any point which will be a gargantuan deal.

MCU'll be fine.

I'd argue the first time didn't need to because it was setting everything up, but now for round 2, the main characters are gone and the world is established, so they need something to show that there's another story there now that the "big bad" is done and the main story is over.

Like the last Avengers movie was called "Endgame" - its gonna take some work to prove everything afterwards isn't just an epilogue.

Though I will admit I haven't watched Loki, since that's apparently done exactly what I was looking for, and a larger multiverse angle with Kang will also probably be furthered at least a bit with Dr. Strange, given that's the whole point of the movie.

The series thing is ruing the movies. .

It's like a 5 hour marvel movie with 30minutes of action

Only loki and wanda were okayish the rest have been bleh

None of them can hold a candle to invincible, vox machina, hit monkey and arcane

At least with animated you can show action eveey episode

Live action is only worth it if you're willing to spend money like peace maker or mando

Disney is cheaping out big time, would rather have a 1 hour tight marvel movie than a slog talky show.

Playing that new Guardians of the Galaxy game made me realise how much better the MCU could be. They take these settings and villains and factions and make them important for precisely one movie, making them into "random planet they visit" or "random evil bad guy you don't need to know anymore about".

And the MCU is already good! It just really rubs me the wrong way to find out that these characters have loads going on but get reduced to getting little more development than "he is bad and here's what he's doing".

People don't realize that a series of X-Men movies done with the proper scale and scope that Fox barely tapped into is enough content to carry the MCU for at least another 10 years.

Let's not even mention what getting the F4 rights will allow Marvel to do.

Also as previously mentioned, Kang is going to be nuts on the big screen.

EDIT: ALSO....people forget that Phase 1 of the MCU wasn't all that stellar. First Iron-Man was great, everything else was just above-average to bad. It wasn't until we saw all these characters fully cross over that things really started to pick up.

I still see us as in that phase. It's a bit different now since we have certain groupings of characters in their own little bubbles. But I think Multiverse of Madness is when things will really start to kick into high gear.
