I wish it was but it's actually shit with floaty combat that has zero weight to it and scuffed PvP where you get constant skill lag if too many people show up. The world is very immersive and great for RP though but that's about it. If you play until the current endgame whatever it is and come back later for a new expansion you'll be able to dive right in because most of the expansions take place at say Level 80 which was the previous cap and you acquire gear from MSQ quests to continue progressing in FFXIV.
