The Armed Forces of Ukraine have destroyed a command operations center of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Armed Forces, eliminating two enemy generals.
The relevant statement was made by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
On April 22, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine landed a devastating blow on the forward command operations center of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Russian occupation forces, which, in defiance of combat instructions and common sense, was located a short distance from the combat line in Kherson Region, the report states.
As a result, the command operations center was destroyed; two Russian generals were eliminated; one more enemy general was seriously injured and evacuated in critical condition. The personal data are yet to be reported.
The military intelligence continues to seek the important targets to inflict maximum damage to the occupiers on our Ukrainian land, the Main Intelligence Directorate noted.
A reminder that the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has obtained the list of war criminals from Russia's 117th Separate Regiment of Marines of the Caspian Flotilla, who are murdering and torturing civilians in the direction of Zaporizhzhia and Mariupol.

Remember when Russia was this big bad? People would argue that they could go toe to toe with America? Or even eclipse America's military might?

This is what happens when you have shit for an NCO Corps. When you're strictly reliant on your officers to give your orders and you can't apply flexibility to a plan and the officers giving you orders are too shit scared to tell the truth to the officers above them.

Russia clearly thought they were playing a game or something. It's sad. Pathetic.

I think that would bring the total to 8 or 9 generals killed so far in the war. Russia started the invasion with 20. That's a truly astonishing rate of attrition.

And they lost their most strategically significant ship in the region. Which was worth like $2-$3 billion and is literally irreplaceable. They've lost more in this past month than any other major military force has lost in decades.

And yet they are still conducting offensive operations. Not good, efficient, or effective ones, but offensive operations that are making progress none the less. To absorb the kinds of losses the Russians have in such a short period of time and still keep attacking is actually no small feat. That being said I hope the Ukrainians continue to kick their fucking dicks in at every opportunity.

At this rate, we're gonna rename a Pyrrhic Victory to a Russian Victory

It's certainly not good for morale or the long term operational capacity of your military that's for damn sure. But it's something you can do when you have an authoritarian system and a complete and total disregard for the lives or welfare of your troops.

I've spent so much time over the years trying to correct people who say that Russian and Soviet tactics were just about sending human waves to overwhelm the enemy, and I feel like it's kind of all been wasted now.

I mean, to be fair, that was the tactic in WW2.

I don't even think these many Russian generals were killed in WWII. Well not counting the ones Stalin purged.

I'm talking mainly about the kind of thing like in Enemy at the Gates, where only half of the men are even armed and there are machine guns set up behind the lines to shoot anyone who retreats. It's a really pervasive image, and it only ever really happened among penal battalions and formation of civilians that were pressed into emergency service on extremely short notice.
