The law, which has become known as the Stop WOKE Act, prohibits workplace training or school instruction that teaches that individuals are inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously; that people are privileged or oppressed based on race, gender, or national origin; or that a person bears personal responsibility for and must feel guilt, anguish, or other forms of psychological distress over actions committed in the past by members of the same race, gender, or national origin. The law says such trainings or lessons amount to discrimination.

Uh... doesn't this run afoul of federal law? Like it's illegal to ask a woman if she intends to become pregnant in an interview. So is it now illegal in florida to educate employees on such laws?

Which is correct. Pathetic losers need to stop acting like victims and build their own lives. Maybe they'll realize one day that most adversity one faces in life comes from one's decisions and the usual group of losers will one day take accountability for their actions? Finally some common sense instead of the openly, actually racist and dividing dialogues being pushed by the modern sjw's.

Ya, just because I benefited massively from exploiting people doesn't mean I have to feel bad about it!

this bill was literally made, and voted on, and passed, because of white conservatives trying to act like a victim when a school teacher teaches about the holocaust or slavery

it'd be funny if it weren't, you know, racist.

Yes. I spy on the alt-right and they often say CRT is just about inflicting white-guilt and that's simply not the case.

The issue is that the sort of people who propose and vote for laws like this have considerable difficulty distinguishing between "guilt-tripping people for what their ancestors did" and "telling people what their ancestors did." Generally speaking, teachers aren't telling white students to feel guilty because white people did bad things. They're just teaching about the bad things that white people did, and those that would prefer to pretend those things didn't happen are feeling bad because they're being forced to confront that historical reality.

In practice, this is going to end up being pretty similar to the Polish law that prohibits people from saying that any Polish people were involved in committing any of the Nazis' atrocities in WWII: A blatant denial of history for the sake of protecting the fragile feelings of a handful of people that don't like it.

But adjl, what if they learn that america was a slave state, and one that owned primarily black people?

Well then they might have to consider the socioeconomic and cultural implications of that history and recognize that the behaviours and beliefs they learned from their parents might not actually be beneficial for the world around them, and that would be just terrible.

Teaching people about such laws includes teaching people about the potential harms behind them. That, in turn, includes teaching people that there have been many instances of men discriminating against women based on their answer to such a question, which in turn has the potential to make any men receiving this training feel guilty about how those women were treated, which is now illegal.

Will such cases ever actually get anywhere? Probably not. That will not, however, be because the law cannot be interpreted as such. It will be because of arbitrary lines being drawn in regards to how the law is applied, which is just a shoddy way to run things.

Well, defining where lines are drawn is explicitly the purpose of the judicial system. The higher ranking judges saying what is, and isn't considered applicable is the purpose of the Florida Supreme Court.

I don't actually have any actual damn confidence in them, but a vaguely worded law being dumped on everyone isn't anything new.

Mr. Shitpost. You know what it means. The law is extremely vague and can be taken in a variety of ways. It's not clear how the law will be applied and how courts will interpret it if cases stemming from it appear before them. Additionally I do genuinely believe this quite possibly has conflicts with federal law, such conflicts are overtly obvious I gave an example.

It's hard to articulate just how immensely stupid the government of Florida is, and nearly impossible to do the same for the people that voted for them.

As such the federal government could go after said states which have legalized it at any time. But they won't. This isn't pot.
