Being honest, other than the funeral I wouldn't visit. I dont believe in ghost, an afterlife or that I could communicate with them once they pass. Say I did entertain the existence, I'd like to hope when they pass they arent shackled to a tombstone. Sounds like an awful afterlife.

My dad and best friend both were cremated. So I wouldn't know.

I sometimes return to the site my dad killed himself or just go to the beach as both of their ashes were scattered in the ocean.

I have gone a few times, but only because I was with someone else who did want to go. I figure since I wouldn't have done it had I not been dragged along, that it doesn't count.

Back to the topic, there's one person's final resting place I haven't visited yet and that's my best friend who passed 3 years ago. Her and I were really close, it still fucking hurts and I don't celebrate new years because of it. Her resting place is in a different state but I just can't bring myself to go.
