My only complaint when playing 7 was not knowing where to go or what to do. Somehow I figured it out without a guide

A few years ago I remember this one guy tried to convince me that FF7 is so much easier than FF6. FF7 being easier than FF6 makes all the earth shattering differences between the game deciding which is the better one. I closed the argument as soon as he tries to make this statement as fact. I swear people hate FF7 so much they'll reach for anything to shit on it. Pathetic.

It'd be cool if FF6 ever got a 3D remake like 3 and 4 did.

I like 7 more but don't particularly like either all that much.

If a genie ever granted me three wishes, one of them would be a remake of FF6 made top to bottom, start to finish in Amano's artstyle.

6 aged better. Two of my favorite RPGs.

Only played a bit of FF6, but the fact that FF7 kept me invested enough to finish it and FF6 didn't even get me started makes me say FF7.

FF7 is my favorite Final Fantasy game, although theyre both in my top tier of FF games (FF7, FF4, FF10, FF6, FF9).

Neither is particularly difficult, so thats a weird stance for them to take.

I'd probably say FF 7 is the easier one, but it's also the one I know better. And with proper knowledge, you break more or less every post FF 5 game quite early on.

Thought 7 was incredible at release, then shifted to 6 for several years thinking FF7 was "overrated", but now feel like FF7 is that damn good again and is superior

I played the original 7 for the first time about a year ago when it was released on the Xbox and hated it. I thought it was the worst FF game I had ever played. I am honestly baffled it gets all the praise it does.

Whereas my playthrough of 6 was a delight, and probably one of my favorite experiences with a FF game, though I still think 9 was the best.

FF6 is my favorite of the numbered FF games, second only to Tactics. I'd put FF7 somewhere in the middle, although it used to be lower.

Im curious how that would pan out. Amano has a very lets call it wispy style of art that I feel wouldnt transfer well to 3D.

Its why, as much as I like Beastars, I dont really like how they did the anime. The manga is rougher looking but so much more expressive.

Anyway, FF7. Theyre both great but FF7 has nostalgia for me. I havent played it in decades so Im not sure it would hold up nowadays. FF6 I played later on. I liked it, but I felt like it wasnt as focused and I never finished it because Gau bothered the completionist in me.

I played it a year or two ago and liked it well enough.

Probably would have hated it on the PS1 though. The PS4 version adds a triple speed button and holy shit, that game is paced so badly without it. Also adds a handy god mode toggle for grinding.

7 by far.

6 is overrated. It's a good game, but it doesn't deserve to be up on the pedestal that people put it on.
