When these streamers are already getting paid from 6 figures to the millions from Twitch themselves. I'm not even talking about simps, but streamers like Hasan and XQC consistently have people donating a crap ton of money and at most they get a "oh thanks" or a lot of the times they don't even bother thanking them because they get so much.

I thought the whole fun of streaming is the interaction, which a lot of these big streamers barely do.

You give your coffee shop a tip. You give your hairdresser a tip.. Why not your Streamer? They are all just small business owners providing you an important service.

I get small time streamers, but big time streamers that already get paid in the high 6 figures or even in the millions from Twitch themselves is not what I would call "small business owners".

Small time streamers are no ones, why would they want to try to get their attention? Unless it is a hot chick then she is on her way to the top anyways.

Wish I could be making that bank, but I don't have the charisma or skill for gaming videos on YouTube/Twitch/etc.

Good on those who did make it though.

False feelings of friendship and false feelings of attention/grandeur. Getting namedropped gives them some kind of high. Getting namedropped and having the highest donation makes them feel some kind of high and some kind of sense of importance.

even small streamers can rack up some donations. it surprises me. like this guy below his streams average around 250 viewers normally (the numbers listed here in the low thousands include people that watched it post-livestream but these particular streams I watched the viewership didn't rise above 350 at least)
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/5/2/2/AAZsuhAADIz6.jpg

In 2 days this guy earned $1100 in donations. Each of his streams are about 2-3 hours long(he streams 2 to 3 times a day in short segments). He started using streamlabs for payment too so youtube doesn't take the cut. This dude would make more money if he streamed more consistently I reckon. Whenever he does an elden ring stream and makes a few hundred he dips out of streaming for a couple of days lol... One of his elden ring streams he got $1400 in donations in around 3 hours. A couple of whales just popped in that night. Never saw those whales again afterward tho.
