I'm pretty well convinced that there was never a dude named Jesus. I think the evidence points to him being a euhemerized preexisting deity. There's too much for me explain right now why, but the TLDR is that the oldest Christian writing we have is Paul, and Paul has no idea that Jesus is a dude. As far as Paul is concerned Jesus is a deity that comes to him in visions and explains things. There's many times that he's arguing doctrine in his letters that telling a story about Jesus' ministry would be a knockout argument, but he never does. --- In simplicity, utility. I believe that very few religious tales actually happened and that the ones that did happened very differently than written and were sensationalized to ridiculous levels, either intentionally or simply because stuff happened that people at the time didn't understand and therefore got stuff wrong. --- Always check timestamps... ...
