Godslayer's Greatsword and Moonveil. Went ahead and leveled them all the way up since I'm sick of trying to decide what to use smithing stones on. Didn't like the sword from Ranni's quest much.

Don't really care for bows but haven't tried all the arrows yet.

Blasphemous Blade is serving my faith build very well

I used the uchi since I chose samurai and then I switched to Bloodhound Fang or whatever. That's pretty much all I used on my first playthrough haha.

First playthrough, Cross Naginata and Flamberge were my "main" weapons. Kept a grave scythe and great stars when I wanted to mix it up a bit. (had another 4 of the same classes when I decided to start dual wielding for extra spice)

early-game was spiked club and spiked spear for most of the rest

I was using Uchigatana for a while but now I'm fooling around with the wolverine claws (forget what they're actually called)

i get trashed by anything with a polearm but they're hella fun

I have bounced back and forth a fair bit. Started off with Bloodhound Fang, then Guardian's Swordspear (halberd), into double bleed/frost greatswords, then double whips, now I'm doing a STR build with two handing twinblades. Might wanna change it up again soon though. This build is good especially with the bonkers Flame of the Redmanes but I'm a bit bored with it.

Fallingstar Beast Jaw. I dunno why barely anyone uses this weapon. Its weapon skill is one of the most OP thing in the game.

It uses low FP, is spammable, does good damage, is ranged and can stagger anything including even the toughest bosses.

Moonveil because I'm a basic bitch, but I also fell for the Nightrider's Flail. The R2 on horseback feels so good to me, with the "whip-whip-whip-WHAP" Also I made it cold so it gives frostbite and hemorrhage.

After all the nerfing Rivers of Blood is the only good weapon

They should probably nerf Godslayer tbh. The queen's black flame one shots pretty much everything that's not a boss once it's maxed out

It's not as good as beast jaw

Curved Sword, Hammer, Cleaver and Crossbow

I switched to Moonveil a few weeks ago from a strength build and haven't looked back

I shoot magic. I have the Moonveil, but mostly just for trash mobs. I'm purposely being a squishy wizard so I genuinely don't have the health (or skill tbh) to really fight dangerous enemies with a sword.

the hook claws? I used them for most of the game ,especially against bosses. you can buff them, they make everything bleed very fast

i started with a Longsword and used Dark Moon Greatsword once i got it. i was mainly a caster and only used the sword occasionally. i only do PvE though

yeah i throw blood grease on them and i bleed most things on the second hit.

very short range though. but that's what my sorceries are for

Moonviel and Meteoric Katanas

Spiked Caestus since I can't use my bare hands to do real damage and bleed is stronk. I'll always gravitate to throwing hands if the option exists.

I've used Falchion for awhile, but am trying to transition away because...they don't really do anything unique.

I'll definitely start using the Scavenger Curved Sword when I get it, but don't know how well it'll scale with my Dex build. And I don't like heavy weapons, so Bloodhound Fang is out

Scavenger's curved sword. Amazing if you can power stance two and then slap them with an ice ash of war so they gain both bleeding AND frostbite buildup in case you run into something that can't bleed. Not to mention that curved swords have imo the best power stanced moveset in the game. The running L1s and jumping L1s deal out the fastest 4 hit combo in the game which pairs well with the buildups

I dont really understand loot in this game. Ive played for about 15 hours and only come across one new weapon and like one or 2 pieces of armor lol (outside of merchants)

Droppable armor pieces/weapons have a pretty low drop rate which means you'll want to be farming them if you see a set you really like. Other than that, the early game doesn't have much in the way of armor sets you can just find on the ground while exploring.

Heavy Cleanrot Knight Sword for barricade shield poking cheese

Bloodhound's Fang if i'm in an unfair fight.

Other than that, it's a tough question. I like a variety of weapons... Executioner's Greataxe, Antspur Rapier, Nightrider Glaive, Nightrider Flail, Crucible Greatsword, Clayman's Harpoon, Death's Poker, Godskin Rapier, Siluria Greatspear, Royal Greatsword, Loretta's Sickle, Beastman's Cleaver, Bloodstained Dagger, Blade of Calling.

Probably all of those.

I power stance two Crushing Hammers post game. I platinumd with power stancing Grafted Greatsword and Guts Greatsword.

Yeah like someone said, you gotta grind for a bit. On the flipside, most weapons you find are actually good enough to invest in if you like them. I went all in on two forked greatswords that imps can rarely drop. They have innate bleed, and I put Hoarfrost stomp on both. Didn't get very good scaling, but you can proc both freeze and blood very reliably so it's still a decent option. And that's droppable from random mobs. Of course it doesn't match the meta OP stuff, but the freedom you get from ashes of war let's you fiddle around enough to find something and make it fit your style.

I'm just using some cement hammer I received early on.

I'm doing a strength build, and I used the ashes of war to make it a heavy hammer, so now it has an S-class scaling in strength.

I'm still about mid-game, so I think it's upgraded to +14 or +15.

it has been good, so far, but some enemies are still OP.

edit: oh yea, I also use that bow that's supposed to send arrows extra far.

Your starting weapon will remain viable for a long time if you upgrade it with smithing stones

Uchigatana

STR/DEX and using a bloodhound fang w my trusty brass shield lol

I also got Nagakiba and a Blood Uchigatana that are almost fully upgraded that I switch to if I wanna be quick and bleedy

moonveil and frost uchigatana (bloodhound step)

once i get to ng+ i'm gonna do a scarlet rot build with either dual antspur rapier or rotten battlehammer. probably antspur cus i can rush to the atlus plateau to get the second one in ng+, but the rotten battlehammer is all the way at the giant mountaintops and i'm not about to rush through lyndell just for one weapon.

Just started using it myself. Staggered magma wyrm last night 4(!) times in the battle. Fucking beast of a weapon.

first character was dex/int with rapiers until i got the moonlight sword. then used that til i beat the game. respec to arcane and used rivers of blood for ng+

second character i did str/faith and used colossal weapons. mainly maliketh's weapon and the giant hammer.

prepping a third character for when/if dlc comes out. gonna see about scythes, black fire and those skull incantations. gonna be like some edgelord grim reaper type of thing.

Double spiked spears with arcane build. Just poking away all my worries.

Rivers of Blood and Uchigatana on my dex build. Then my secondary is the bloodhound fang.

I stumbled upon all my items just exploring around and have a lot. You could always google to find locations of decent weapons if you don't feel like finding them by luck. Bosses seem to drop the best ones

been using giant crusher + crozier. Two giant hammers. will prob beat the game with them. I'm super close. just the final leyndell bosses left post farum ofc.

might switch this up to powerstancing claymores my next playthrough. i originally began with 2 handing a claymore early on in this playthrough which was really fun. Once I started powerstancing the two big ass hammers I started to play sloppy since they do massive damage with royal knight resolve so was more willing to trade blows instead of watching out for good opportunities lol.

Death's Poker and Wing of Astel have served me very well but I'm now gravitating more towards powerstancing cold infused antspur rapiers (with seppuku) and a series of daggers for utility (parry dagger, assassin's gambit on erdsteel dagger, bloodhound step on wakizashi (sometimes paired with Nagakiba), black knife for hp burn, misericorde with flame of redmane)

Dark Moon Greatsword is just so satisfying in PVE and you can do weird things with it.

Up until then I was using the Zweihander since it seemed easiest to kill enemies with.

Currently using Moonveil and a Meteor Blade.

I think my ending build will be Antspur Rapier and Frozen Needle because you can slap Poison Mist with a Bleed affinity on the Antspur, thus building up Scarlet Rot, Frostbite, Poison, and Bleed at the same time. I don't know how good that'll be though, so I'll have to see.

I'm probably one of the only one using Astel's Flail, but I love it
