Continuation of the purse topic; Her wallet just arrived today and I'm trying to think of things to put inside. So far I've considered a small amount of cash ($5-20), getting her a Library card, and a reloadable Visa Card. I wanted to do a Non-Drivers ID, but I think you have to be at least 12 for that? Idk.

Any ideas?

Edit: The wallet itself:

isn't there some card that was advertised for kids, where you can add money to it so they can learn about budgeting, and stuff like that

Legit, if anyone can tell me the name of it I'd appreciate that a whole lot. That sounds perfect, unfortunately the only thing I can think of is a ReLoadable Visa Giftcard.

I think it's the Greenlight Debit Card:

Thats what Greenlight is for the debit card and money app for families. Kids earn money through chores, set savings goals, spend wisely and learn to invest. All with flexible parental controls.

Don't buy them a debit card, don't even give them money at all, you will spoil your kids that way. If they want money, they have to earn it, and the best way to do it is by giving them chores. Every time they do their chores, give them like $5 or something.

$5 for cleaning their room/taking out the trash/doing dishes is spoiling them. Giving them $5-20 as a 10 year birthday is spoiling them so much less. Plus this is a joint gift between her mom and I. First Purse/Wallet with all the trimmings.

I like this idea. I fear she'll just spend it randomly, but I feel like it would be significant to her if I explain how rare they are. Most banks can just give you one as an exchange these days, right?

IMO, the goal is to teach your kids responsibility/to become responsible or to teach them the consequences for being neglectful of their own responsibilities before your kids hit the rebellious phase of their life...

Plus it's a lot better ASAP, than them having to REALIZE it later in life.

So, you can just fuck right off out of this topic. I made sure to mention TEN YEARS OLD off the bat because sick fucks like you wanted her to have condoms, plan B, and a gun in the initial topic about giving her her first purse.

actually it was drug related. But okay.

Jeez, you people need to get your minds out of the gutter.

Depends on the state. Look up your state's DOT to find out if there's an age limit for a state ID.

As for cash, I know kids love having lots of it even if it doesn't add up to much. So consider breaking that $20 into a ten, a five, and five singles. (I gave my nephew 5 bucks in quarters and he went nuts lol)

So again, fuck right off out of the topic please. Regardless of what the jokes were, if you would get modded for them you can just not talk when it comes to my 10 year old step daughter, thank you very much.

It doesn't. You've got the right ideas. But for real a $2 bill would be a nice touch, especially if you think there's a reasonable chance she's never seen one before.

Her dad spoils her regardless, I cant stop that additude while the guy does all he can to give them what he didnt have. That's why my gift is a fully decked out purse; his will most likely be a tablet, videos games, or something else stupid.

Or you know.. as a former boy scout set up the kit correctly so she doesnt just fill it with fidget toys and call it good.

Plus, her mother and I are doing this as a joint gift, I'm just trying to come up with ideas.

The purse is set to include the following:
Wallet (with included items from this topic)
Chapstick
Hand Sanitizer
Hair Brush
Glasses case with cloth
Nail File
Tissues
Hair Ties (attached to carabiner)
Spare earing backings

Oh, and her mom is putting together the feminine hygiene kit to give her in private as to no embarrass her.
