I feel bad saying it, but I genuinely enjoyed how little of a role the people played in the story. They were fine in the first film for an origin story but they're kinda pointless now.

Shadow in the post credits was a great tease. I was trying to think of what they could do to top last movie's, and I was thinking either Metal Sonic or Shadow.

Also, Super Sonic was hype as fuck! For some reason I wasn't expecting them to actually use him in the movies.

I watched it earlier today. Took my son and a couple of his buddies to see it. It was a lot of fun, we really enjoyed it. I thought it was just as good as the first one.

I agree you regarding the human characters. The wedding side plot felt kind of unnecessary. Although I did enjoy the scene where the guy realized he mixed up the rings.

We left as soon as the credits rolled, and I knew there was a pretty good chance I was going to miss out on a post-credits teaser!

It was quite good. Only scenes that were eh, were the wedding to a degree (at least they integrated GUN into it and thus they have a role to play in the next movie well. So, worth it for the set up.)
And the Scandinavians randomly deciding to murder sentient beings instead of sell them to science, capture them whatever. Weird.

Wish the music was more modern Sonic than...movie music and dance crap but whatever.

The actors did VERY well, especially Knuckles and Tails! Loved Eggman and even Stone.
Do wonder how much they'll go for a 3rd movie.

If Eggman doesn't come back, will they go for a combined Shadow and Chaos thing?
Focus more on Gerard? Black Doom?

I was hoping for a Metal Sonic tease since that would logically be the next step for Robotnik. But if Carrey is truly done, then I'm fine with Shadow as an antagonist.

Great movie though. I'm also glad they focused less on the humans, though I found them enjoyable enough.

It sounds like Carrey is on the fence, so he might stick around for a third movie? From the way it sounds, he genuinely likes playing Dr. Robotnik.

Tbqh it would feel a little weird having a movie with just Shadow as the antagonist and no Robotnik in sight.
My wife threw out the possibility if Jim Carrey really does retire, maybe they can pull some weird horror shit where Stone is like "I love you so much that I want to become you ". That would be weird but I could see them don't that and differentiating by specifically calling him Dr. Eggman instead of Robotnik. Not my favorite solution but hell we'll see \_()_/

Actually, Agent Stone could probably create an Egg Robo as an attempt to mimic Dr. Eggman, like from Sonic 3, Knuckles' story.

And the Egg Robo would be voiced by Mike Pollock.

They should bring Amy in for the next movie

I could see Stone using a Robotnik leftover mech, that turns out to be Omega left over and near completion, as a way to bring him in.
Now that there are more jewels, perfect excuse for Rouge.
I do wonder if they can keep Shadow acting serious. I think.they can.

I don't really see it being a perfect rehash of SA2, but some decent hodge podge, possibly replacing Bio Lizard with Chaos eating the emeralds as Shadow does stuff.

But that would be a lot to do. So maybe JUST Shadow and Team Dark if they can. Rouge more than Omega probably will happen.

I was wondering about that. Rouge is one of the more out-there Sonic character designs... Not that the furries look perfect in live action, but I think they look decent enough. I dunno how well they could get a CGI Rouge to fit in lol.
