Ill Start. Tetris: Practically created a genre on its own and I hope we get a movie about its creation some day. Resident Evil 4: Not only did it change the course of Resident Evil lore and history but also was just a really well made game for the time. besides what was already posted, Breath of the Wild and Witcher 3, to some extent. it's still early to tell, since the games are fairly recent, but I've heard how some developers were inspired by either their sense of freedom (BotW) and/or their narratives/side-stories (TW3).
