Probably Navy basic marching and running around base all day. My current civilian job has me walking 4-5 miles a day, since the area I clean is massive.

Hiking for ~5 miles. I didn't reach the end of the trail because the last quarter mile suddenly turned into a 40 degree slope. I did get to rest in the middle of a forest alone with some surprisingly friendly woodland critters. (They wouldn't get close enough to touch, but had no problems being around me. Deers, rabbits, squirrels, birds)

Unfortunately this wasn't a camping trip, so we had to hike another 5ish miles to get back to the base of the mountain same day. Walking down was faster but no less arduous.

So total it was around 9-10. I probably had several others come close while I was in the military, but none were 20-30 degree hills for more than a quarter mile like that mountain was the whole way up. So even if I've done others of similar length that's the one that stands out as most difficult.

Others don't get to dictate what's normal and what isn't. It's something we decide for ourselves. That's why it's the most important thing to us.

Just walking probably 12 miles. I tend to do distances longer than that when running.

Don't know the distance, but I walked for 8 hours once. Nearly 4 to get there, about minutes walking around the park, then another 4 to get back.
