They didn't "lose" the X-Men afterwards or any time for that matter. Lego Avengers didn't feature them as it was mostly an MCU focused game featuring Avengers. Marvel has always held the rights to the X-Men in any media but cinema. There was never an issue featuring the X-Men in games, tv and animation. It was a choice on their part to feature them less. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Marvel Super Heroes 2 was not movie based and did not have any X-Men or Fantastic Four characters. That's a weird omission for it to not be a rights issue. After 2014, Lego no longer produced X-Men related sets as well. So they either lost the rights or didn't buy them. ... Copied to Clipboard!
