Tbh if I wanted a bigger challenge I would just up the difficulty and tackle the superbosses/post-game dungeons. like Persona, it's just nice to have the social stats auto-maxxed from my last playthrough so I can see events I missed the first time and spend more time on social links. If I wanted a challenge I'd fight like, Elizabeth, or the Reaper, or something. --- https://imgur.com/dAri4ON ... Copied to Clipboard!

When Chrono Trigger started "new game+", it was basically a built-in cheat option, allowing you start a game super-powered. That was my first impression of what new game+ is, and that's how it remains. --- WHO MODS THE MODERATORS? ... Copied to Clipboard!

I like Dragon's Dogma. Borderlands does it pretty great. I also like customizable NG+ modes like in Crosscode where you can choose what carries over(level, items, etc.) or toggle on some funny/broken modes. I think Ratchet and Clank has the right idea. In general I'm not a fan of NG+. My favourite is probably Three Houses because of the insane amount of customizability it offers. Tinkering with it is engaging enough that the complete lack of any challenge is made up for. Not like the game was challenging in NG anyway. But something like Dark Souls, NG+ is so immensely boring I can't stand it at all. Progression is gone. Challenge is gone. You're essentially just pumping more exp into a character to see stats go up without anything to do with it. --- "That thick shaft that causes women to shudder!" ... Copied to Clipboard!

I like it to be customizable. I enjoy leveling up and I won't be doing that if levels carry over. If there's new challenges then it's fine though. I prefer the god mode style new game+. The other way is like the games with level scaling, it removes the sense of "I'm stronger than I was at the beginning" because the enemies at the starting areas are now just as strong. I don't want that. Especially if the game is long. I want to plow through the story the second time. I don't want a 40 hour playthrough to take another 40 hours because the enemies got stronger. --- PSN - NoxObscuras Z490 | i9-10900K | EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra | 32GB DDR4 3600 | 4TB SSD ... Tales is the only series I know to get this right: give the player the choice on what to carry over. Play the game well enough to earn a lot of Grade and you can make your next playthrough a breeze. I'd like it to turn the difficulty up, mainly the numbers. Not interested in being stunlocked by 5 minions dropped into the fight. Also I thought it would be cool if DS1 let me spend saved up points in some way to play the base game over with weapons that I never get a chance to use. By the time you have an Obsidian Greatsword there's barely any of NG left to use it against and I'll have a far superior weapon that I used to get it on hand. Let me start with an Obsidian Greatsword. Lately I've been thinking about how shit unlockables have become and I miss the game having some consecutive playthroughs lined up for you rather discouraging you from wanting to replay with boring slow segments and nudging you to get in line and buy another game. I think they should re-do DS1 again but with more fun. A built in randomiser, every covenant you can join as an offline only unlockable starting class if you max out your covenant allegiance and a Black Knight starting class for beating the game. Multiplayer is 0/10 in Fromsoft games and I don't care for it. Just set me to online and give me all the replay options, that's the NG+ I want. --- Still waiting on that third threat ...
