I'm having a good time doing local co-op (which is way better optimized than BL3's was at launch) but man they made some weird decisions here. Probably the worst menu and inventory system they've ever made lol anyone else playing?

I decided against buying a Borderlands product after how badly they fucked up 3.

I bought the CE and still haven't touched the DLC ffs. That game disappointed me to no end.

So far it's significantly better than BL3 but I'm still pretty early on. The writing is already better and somehow less annoying even with Tiny Tina as a prominent character in the game lol

God, Borderlands is just so tired to me. Ive gotten 1, 2, 3, and the presequel for free over the years and i honestly would never pay a dime for a BL title.

If you play even one of them for 5 minutes, you have played all the games have to offer in their entirety.

They are just so fucking boring and tedious and their "HAHA look how meta we are!" humor is just tiring.

I'm playing it right now, was actually about to start it up before I saw this topic. My character, Spore Warden, is level 14.

The inventory seems weird but I can't put my finger on why, I forgot how the other games handled inventory. But I don't like how to get ammo I have to scroll down to the bottom of one of the 3 shops offerings. I remember there being a "fill ammo to max" button in one of the games without any scrolling.

Edit: I'm dumb. I didn't have any key tied to "secondary use" because I didn't know what that was. When I put a key on that, now when I go to a vendor I can press that to refill ammo. Problem solved.

Haven't ran into Ava yet but I hope she's not in it. Seems like entirely new characters with the exception of Tina so far.

I'm running the Clawbringer or whatever and my gf is running Spore Warden. Fun little combo, though I think the companion shit seems a little half assed so far. They just do their own thing. Unless I'm missing something.

For the spore warden at least, you can use the ping to "mark" an enemy, then the companion will do a special lunge attack at them and focus on them. If you don't ping an enemy, they just do whatever, which is fine because they can take the aggro off of me. Later on you can get a skill which allows the companion to revive you.

One thing I'm missing is I always liked the abilities that changed how your skill functioned. Like your turrets get double barrels or nukes, or phaselock turning into mind control. So far I haven't seen anything like that. I have my arrows and my ice tornados, and I will always have my arrows and ice tornados with no modifications at all. Nothing like adding arrows, or changing my tornados to fire, it makes getting new skill points a bit boring because it's just going to be some kind of percentage upgrade, not too much build variety. I know there's dual classing later which I hope relieves some of that.

The menus/inventory are worse than BL3? Is this on PC or console?

ugh, glad its not out on steam yet because the UI/inv is the main reason I stopped playing BL3 after I beat it once

Seemed like a redundant buy when it was perfectly fine as BL2 DLC imo.

Borderlands is the kind of game that you would expect to have a gun that shoots bees but doesn't.

All borderlands games are at least somewhat Janky.

Hell, me and my best friend sunk close to 1000 hours in Borderlands 2 and the amount of "Borberlambs" moments we had was actually insane. I just don't think it's a particularly well optimized series. Although the menu's sucking wasn't a thing until 3 and it really soiled the enjoyment of that game. Sucks to hear Tina's the same way.
