My last day in the Army was pretty chill , I was working like normal in the office,. At around 11am , my squad leader comes in, he looks at me and says "Why the fuck are you still working, go home, you only have a week left, take care" and then I left and stayed home getting free money for a week lol.

My last hospital shift before I gave up urgency care entirely was definitely one of the worst.

I was 19 or 20 and got fired from being a government karpenter. Mixed emotions. A lot of low-key joy because I fucking hated it, but some genuine sadness, as I had never been fired before and got kalled out on a few things I genuinely messed up on. Relief not only that this chapter is over, but that I had the foresight to not accept the offer to let them pay for my schooling, as that would've seriously bit me in the ass (never thought I'd one day find myself skipping klass to secretly go chill at the beach). And finally, some dread, because I know I'm in for some shit when I get home and ma hears about this.

Usually a trip to HR, paper work and then out by lunch. Nothing fancy. But my last 2 jobs I left I gave a months notice just to be nice.

I'm literally on my break at work right now lol.

But if you mean past ones... I remember walking out mid shift at one of them because they were demanding I take my breaks ridiculously early in my shift (to the point I'd often have half the shift left after my 3rd and final break) and they responded to me complaining about this by pushing for even earlier breaks so yeah... basically said "I'm not going for my break; either send me back to work or I'm going home", they insisted I go for break, so I clocked out and left, and never came back.

Should note that under NZ employment law at the time it was illegal to make me take my breaks as early as they were without my explicit agreement.
