The producer of Sonic 2 said the SCU will be out of sync with the games

As for Shadow replacing Metal in a CD based movie, probably wouldn't work as the in game story revolved around the Time Stones and not the Chaos Emeralds

Since 2 is introducing Tails and Knuckles, 3 will almost certainly introduce Amy and Shadow.

I havent seen any of the Sonic movies, but if they didnt blow their load on Metal in the first two movies, theyre not gonna have him over Shadow in the third

Only boomers care about Metal. When was he last even relevant outside of things that arent nostalgia bait? Heroes? When he was an alt in Adventure?

He was a main boss in Sonic Mania. Was also in Boom or whatever that really bad Wii u one was called.
