As a prominent celeb, he actually stands to have more lucrative career opportunities NOT pressing charges. His choice to not immediately get into a screaming match with Smith after the attack implied Rock showed more mature stoicism. A lot of witnesses (and the commenting public) agree Will Smith showed weakness, not strength, physically lashing out onstage over the joke and then hollering after he sat down. His actions have also put an unflattering microscope over how much privilege Hollywood has given him. Frankly this is not a good time in his career to be pulling this shit like this.
