Gamefaqs as a whole, the message boards, or CE in particular? Because even without the boards, I don't see why I'd turn away from a decent guide site.

like seriously, nearly every good reason to GameFAQs has already come and gone. And I'm still here. I know, pathetic. But its the truth.

Another alternative message board focused on video games that doesn't have an upvote/downvote system.

A nice alternative. A very compelling argument that the majority of people here are scum or just very shallow would play a big role too.
I don't think it'd be outrageously difficult, I do come here a lot but I'm not a very prominent character. If an alternative showed up and there were consistent topics I enjoyed participating in it'd be tough to say no.

The big thing that comes up whenever I wonder why I haven't looked very hard for an alternative is the site medal thing. I remember I'm part of the big 1st place tie for people who visit every day and somehow that's enough, sunken cost fallacy style. It does make me wonder if there's something wrong with me.
