his name is Don Elliot, and he won for Best Visual Effects on Life of Pi.
he also did work on Jurassic Park and Back to the Future 2+3, among others.

he's also an academy member, and gets sent all the movies that get nominated each year.
he also gets to go to the local theater for free, the lucky bastard.

so I thought that was neat.
