The staff would be employees of McKibbon. The buck stops there. Hilton is not at a fault for bad management companies that got hired by a bad franchisee.

Kudos to Boynton Beach Police Dept. for their prompt response though. It's a nice low-crime area so they had several officers with downtime to help out.

Night Auditor is a job nobody wants to do for what it pays and it's difficult to find reliable people for that spot.

Night Auditor is the term hotels use for overnight desk clerk. They usually are the only employee there at night with most chain hotels.

If you owned a business and the employee you gave an opportunity to just walks out saying nothing, leaves the doors open so anyone can come in and loot, vandalize, etc you wouldn't want them in a court room?

There's stories going back to the 1970s and 80s of cops finding 24-hour gas stations or convenience stores unmanned or the employee deceased and calling the owner. It's not a new police thing.

In a statement sent to Newsweek, a McKibbon Hospitality spokesperson said they were made aware of the video, but the video incorrectly stated that employees walked out of the hotel.
"Last evening, hotel management was alerted by law enforcement that the Hampton Inn & Suites Boynton Beach was inadvertently attended for a period," the statement read. "This was a one-time incident and we will be taking the necessary precautions to ensure this does not happen again."

Just throwing it out there that I have them tagged as "Corporate Bootlicker" and it seems like every one of their posts goes out of its way to remind me why.
