Most certainly, people should not be exploited. In any situation.

And the incident you refer to in your first message is a serious single case of exploitation. I don't think anyone would argue against that.

But if you want to craft a decent argument indicting the porn industry, that might start with some statistics as well. Link an article you've found or something.

Y'know, don't just think of one incident, paint it as the norm, and then draw conclusions from there.

But the "Girls being tricked/abused/blackmailed" into porn is no myth at all.

So many Japanese porn actress have come out saying they thought they were doing modelling jobs and were told such and started out as such and then found out they had signed porn contracts and were bullied, threatened and abused into nudity or sex scenes they didn't consent to.

And considering how many women in Japan never publically talk about sexual abuse, it's not unreasonable to assume anyone speaking out is only a small minority of people abused.

It's a dark and seedy businsess. Even when it's "legal" it's still fucked up

Oh absolutely, I was just referring to the JAV part.

In fact, most of the abuse in the porn industry happens in a couple of european countries (Czech republic and Russia) and also in Miami, FL.

There was an interview from La Sirena 69, where she explained the differences between filming in Miami and filming in LA. She said she was abused and was underpaid almost on a daily basis when she was down in Florida.

Let's go ahead and apply this logic in other areas.

Unless reproductive rights for women are the single most dangerous thing affecting women, they aren't relevant and everyone should focus on whatever the "most dangerous" thing is, according to TC's definition of danger.

After all, female circumcision still exists, any attention paid to less "serious" events is wasted energy.

Because despite there being millions of people involved in every area of this debate, we cannot do ANY compartmentalization, all energy must be placed only on the worst offender and then dealt with in descending order of severity.
