I dont bring lunch. Not really anymore. I might when I start cooking again. But probably not. I usually just pick up breakfast on the way. And snack if I stay late. Usually waiting until I get home to eat again. Sometimes, I would go get lunch with a friend, though

I pack a small sandwich and some water. Just enough nutrition and energy to keep me going, but not so filling I'm lethargic at the end of my shift.

They make us food at work, tonight we had pretzel bread pizza, it was pretty solid but it's usually more bland. Still beats spending money on it though

Do they feed you in place of pay?
I know we used to do that all the time. There's some kind of legal loophole that says you can give employees part of their pay as a stipend or food allowance. However, if you just provide food for your employees you just don't have to give them the stipend. It saves the company tons of money and fucks their employees over pretty heavily. Especially when you do what we did and just put a big ass pot of boiled hotdogs and water bottles by the front door and offer nothing else.

No, it's just free food, it has no effect on our pay, they just use extra/cheap stuff. Usually it's chicken and pasta or rice but sometimes they'll make something really good. They really don't even care if the cooks make food for people during the shift either, just nothing too expensive like steak, short ribs, lobster, etc.

My work use to do a monthly thing. They would ask it they could sign up employees. They would take a small amount and do a monthly food gathering. I think the first couple were free, though. AFAIK, I got to go to a few, but never signed up. Even afterwards, I remember not being allowed to go in while the paying people were there. But I could usually go afterwards, if I wanted

During the summer I usually went out for lunch, or would get a rotisserie chicken and some broccoli and heat it up in the office. I would also keep a bunch of cans of soup in my desk if I didn't feel like going out and didn't bring anything in.

But now I work from home, so I usually just microwave a "healthy choice" meal or make a sandwich.

Snacks (I take one of each, but usually only eat 1 or 2):
Some kind of healthy(-ish) chips (Popchips, PopCorners, Baked Lays, etc)
Nuts or trail mix
Kirkland Nut Bars
Nature's Bakery Whole Wheat Fig Bars
Dried/dehydrated fruit or fruit snacks with 100% fruit & no added sugar

Entrees (one per day):
Nongshim Odon
Nongshim Tonkatsu Ramen
Maruchan Yakisoba
Earthly Grains quinoa or farro/quinoa meal
Snapdragon Vietnamese Pho
Snapdragon Miso Ramen
Fusia soup bowls
Specially Selected soups
Bumble Bee Snack on the Run! Tuna Salad Kit with Crackers

My favorite entree is probably the Aldi Earthly Grains Farro & Quinoa meal with grilled vegetables & herbs. Loaded with tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, piquillo peppers, artichoke, onion, celery, and garlic. The only bad part is that it's pretty high in sodium, 540 mg.

My least favorite is the Bumble Bee Snack on the Run. It has as many calories as many of the other entrees (310), but there's very little substance. Just 6 lousy Ritz-type crackers and a tiny tin of tuna salad. It tastes good but I'm hungry again a couple hours later. It does have the advantage that no cooking or prep is required and the required utensil is included.

Yeah, I - still - haven't gone in to work since the pandemic started, so nothing.

At home it's usually either canned soup, Triscuits and cheese, leftovers from last night, salami, or some combination thereof. Often with broccoli and hummus.
