they can't draw fight scenes worth crap. they have fights, but how often do you see fights with HYPE? if you read One Piece right now, as bad as it is at least the fights are a draw.

a weekly format helps, and Luffy has been fighting the same dude for 45 chapters in a row.

Yes, that many. Granted, there are also side fights as the series in the middle of a war.

With comics you get stuff like:

lasts for one page, no flaw, boring, and uninteresting. they don't know how to actually choreograph fights.

That's actually more than I expected. I thought Cap and Bats locked eyes and said, "Hey, look. We're the reasonable ones here. We shouldn't fight."

Western comics sometimes have good choreography, but a lot of times the paneling is either dull or confusing. Even more often, the drama and excitement are conveyed via the text boxes telling you why it's super cool, instead of the panel itself being super cool. Honestly, as still images, most panels from western comics are works of genuine art--but the flow is usually all over the place.

I mean, yeah western comics have awful fight panels. They always have. But they really weren't what kids read them for. All we wanted to see was Black Cat's ass.

Tbh i find manga fights and conflicts to last too long most of the time. I dont really mind shorter fights. Infact i appreciated that Invincible had fights lasting only a few pages at best with major arcs being completed in around 10 chapters. Let the story continue forward faster.

In 144 chapters it covered a lot more ground than many shounen. In comparison to a hero manga like opm that has had like 100 chapters dedicated to 1 arc, it is a breath of fresh air
