Yeah, my mortgage is only up $8/mo due to tax increases. Homeowner gang definitely coming out ahead of the renting is totally better crowd in the last few years.

Ya, owning is so much better imo. I also got lucky and bought my place a year and half ago before the market exploded

My rents gonna be $700 a month. I'm paying like $680 so while not a huge increase still sucks.

This for a 1 bedroom apartment with a balcony btw

How the flying fuck is your rent same or higher than Bay Area or New York in Denver? Maybe you rent a 5 bed room house?

I'll never forget how this forum looked down on home owners not too long ago. There was always an excuse on how horrible buying a house can be, and often those excuses were overblown.

I'm paying less than $50/sqft for my current house mortgage, tax and all. Unlike rent, mortgages never go up unless you have an ARM loan. If I want to move I can easily sell it. And I put like 5% down payment on it. You just have to have good credit.

In the long run, it's always better to buy. I've actually made more money in equity in my home investment than I've made in a year's salary at my job.

Luckily it has not. I'm paying $1475 when everyone around me is paying $2k+. Dunno how I ended up so lucky. Maybe cuz the house has a shit ton of issues but idgaf if a light fixture or two dont work, or if my stove is leaking gas and my brain is melting.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

yeah I lived in Denver for 4 years almost

I watched houses which I considered too small at 350k go to 700k. The ones I wanted at 500k or so are 800k-1m... pretty fucked up

Zero.

My Mortgate payment has been the same $1700 a month it's been since I refinanced for a lower APR back when the housing market crashed in 2008.

Thanks to GW Bush, I knocked 7 years off my mortgage!

rent went up 40$ i think.

they had to recertify. that job switch kinda fucked me in the household.
because my own income went up this year.

basically lost any gain from that.

unfortunately i don't have any right to complain as others have it worse.
