I had an appointment to swap out my UK driver's license for a German one

On top of the 35 I have to pay for a new license, I have to pay an extra 50 because my old license is technically a non-EU license. Despite, y'know, dating from 2013 and having the EU flag plastered over the front

just pay the fine, but make the clerk feel really stupid about it. like, when they finish talking, stare blankly at them for a moment, then stare blankly at your licence, turn it around to face them, point at the flag and say "it has an eu flag"
wont actually help but theres not really harm in doing something like that

If it's anything like an American DMV, the people working their have no sense of humor and may in fact be cyborgs designed to bore citizens to near death while frustrating them at the same time.

If it's anything like American retail, they'll talk shit about you doing that on their breaks, and if it's like the American DMV, they'll have lots of time for that.
