Then I was denied my promotion right as I was about to take my maternity leave. I was told we could push for a promo for when I return. I asked why because my performance review wouldnt change and Id be gone so it made no sense, I wouldnt have done anything differently. It was pretty obvious they just didnt want to promote me and give me a pay increase right before maternity leave. So I left, interviewed with other companies but took my entire leave anyway and only formally quit a couple of weeks before I was supposed to return.
