I actually enjoyed myself.

Please tell me the truth, CE. Is this terminal? How long do I have?

I mean, the game's been out for so long that it probably is legitimately better than it was at launch. Just try to keep in mind that the core design philosophy for the game was basically asset flipping stuff from an abandoned project combined with an overly aggressive cash shop, made worse by the fact that it's just as buggy as every other Bethesda title only now you can lose real money purchases because of it.

Oh, it still has plenty of issues, but I only gave it a go as is on gamepass now. Main story is nothing great, but has a few fun side quests. Still as fun as the other modern Fallout's are in going and exploring at least.

my understanding is they did eventually make it into something resembling a decent experience but it certainly didnt launch that way

Yeah, that's a good example of an improvement. The game launched without any NPCs at all.

Get out before you get hooked on the settlement building. Youll want to collect all the furniture plans and customize your camps.

Then months later the realization that youve been wasting your time on a crappy game sets in. But youll still come back to it because you like the world of Fallout and having your own little lot of land in it.

Yeah, I remember hearing that. They definitely do help, even if they aren't anything fantastic. Do make the world at least feel alive.

My biggest annoyance was that I started when they had their "alien invasion" and would encounter aliens literally everywhere no matter where I went. Add to that, they were set to spawn in at a minimum level of 20+ when I was still fresh from the vault. Definitely left a sour note in my mouth and almost made me uninstall - but once that "fun event" ended it was much better as was actually able to go and explore places without just dying immediately .

It's been patched up to the point that it's pretty alright. Playing Fallout with a friend online is a lot of fun. I got it for like $5 and it was more than worth it.

If you have fun with it, so what? Just because most people dont like it doesnt mean you have to not like it

You play alone or woth friends? I got some enjoyment out of solo, but it always felt like shallow enjoyment. I was always conscious I was just gonna be over it before I got that far

Alone so far, but not played it that much yet. Might see if some of my friends want to do play it with me, but not sure any of them care for it. Not that I mind much, as enjoy just going off and doing my own thing, only joining with others briefly for the various events and to watch everyone else kill the Queen Scorched Bat thing so I can leach the rewards.

I wasn't shaming, I was talking about myself because I took a lot of shit from CE for enjoying this game for quite a bit. It's nice to see other people liking it.

Fallout 76 is a futile world with shallow quests and npcs, so it gets old really fast. The Outer Worlds is a better game if you want to experience good story and freedom of choice like in previous Fallout games.

The Outer Worlds is soulless and falls apart after the first area. They tried to copy the New Vegas formula without having the talent to do so or really understanding why it was special in the first place. Which is odd because they had Josh Sawyer right there if they wanted someone to explain it to them.

it was pretty rough for awhile, they fixed a lot with Wastelanders so it wasn't entirely unfair.
