I'm pretty sure he can mostly do whatever he wants, and the Secret Service has to come up with ways to keep him safe on the fly.

Remember when Bush showed up in Iraq and it was a big secret? He shot up in the polls and it made him look like a brave hero.

They've been asking since 2008, and we've been blowing them off. If it didn't happen then, it certainly ain't happening now that it would instantaneously trigger Article 5. The war could have easily been prevented, but the lifers at the State Department didn't want to prevent it. They knew Putin eventually wouldn't be able to help himself, he's obsessed with Ukraine and Kyiv in general, as the birthplace of the Russian Empire. They were just waiting for it, knowing what would come next.

Just look at the state of the world 4 weeks ago compared to now. NATO and the West's general dependence on the US stronger than ever. Member countries like Germany, for the first time ever, actually gonna meet their military spending requirements. Russia isolated, economy in shambles. EU working to quickly disentwine their economy from Russia's. I mean the list goes on and on. You just know that it some smoky back room champagne was being popped the night Russia invaded.
