It's unknown if "reboot" in this context means literally rebooting the character with the same actor (which would make the Netflix show non-canon) OR if it simply means that they're taking the character in a new direction while not openly dismissing the Netflix show.

Given that Disney+ is now the new home for the Netflix Marvel shows, it'd be pretty confusing for casual audiences to have two separate Daredevil shows listed with the same actor if they aren't in any way connected.

Does it really matter if they're connected. Happens in comics all the time where a hero has random little adventures a few issues only to never be spoken of again when the next writer takes over.

Just say he's from a different strand of the multiverse and call it a day tbh.

I think in this particular circumstance it could, since Daredevil Season 3 setup some interesting plot threads that would definitely get dropped entirely if it was deemed non-canon to the MCU.

Bullseye in particular was very well done and I'd like to see them just go forward with that version of the character.

Vincent D' Onofrio was told that his Kingpin is the same one. So he played it as the same guy except that he lost his organization during the blip and had to rebuild.

It doesn't really matter if it's the same continuity though. Marvel could just say its a different universe but assume that everything that happened in the Netflix shows happened here too.

By reboot they probably mean only Charlie Cox and Vincent D'onofrio will return as their respective roles. Everyone else (Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage) will be recast.

The definitive king pin and daredarevil

Yeah, if anything it will be a soft reboot that doesn't overwrite what happened in the Netflix show, but also doesn't really touch on it all that much either.

As long as Cox and D'Onofrio are onboard, I don't super care what they do.

But bonus points if it will finally get those "the Netflix shows aren't canon!!!" people to finally shut up.

I think they could mostly use the same characters but just make the blip almost be like an excuse to soft reboot.

Jessica Jones is one I'm really hoping for. It would be neat if she actually joined the Avengers during that period and couldn't make the Endgame battle for some reason lol. It would be nice to actually have a Jessica Jones show that feels like a PI in a Marvel universe instead of a show that almost felt embarassed of super heroes after season 1. That last season was a complete joke.

It's been rumored for about a year now that Krysten Ritter might be coming back to appear as Jessica Jones in a future Disney+ show.

Adding fuel to the fire is, a) Krysten Ritter making a tweet about Jessica Jones going to Disney+ and calling her a "Disney Princess" now and b) Krysten Ritter recently posting an instagram pic wearing exactly what Jessica Jones wore with her hair dyed purple.

I understand why they immediately went to Purple Man, but Alias was good long before they revealed Jessica's backstory. Here's hoping they do this scene verbatim:

I imagine if anything itll just be a variant universe. But I think Daredevil was so popular theyd more than likely keep it and start from Season 4. Especially having the first 3 seasons on Disney+

They might end up picking and choosing the parts they like and shy away from the rest.
