This isn't the first time you posted your Saturn collection.

I posted my Dreamcast collection last time. I don't remember posting SS collection

The site compresses everything to low-quality jpegs anyway.
No idea what purpose the 4MB limit serves, especially when the actual limit is about 2.25MB.

It's cool man. I love seeing the games.

I never had a Saturn so the console seems so foreign to me.

I own the NA Saturn Launch Controller (My variant is shown below, I painted in the lettering myself, so the job isn't great)

It's highly under rated and the D-Pad is awesome, even better than the later Saturn D-Pad that is highly regarded as one of the "Best of All Time" by many, IMO.

It's a wild system. I bought a Japanese Saturn couple years ago. If you like fighters, shoot 'em ups, racers, and other arcade based games it's a must have.

Panzer Dragoon Saga... Ahh yes.

Tell me about that game right at the top, that looks okayish. The rest not so much.

Yeah, it seems like the console to have for classic 2D fighters. Sega always did make fun arcade-style racing games.

Such an odd duck though. It beat Sony and Nintendo to the punch but doesn't really seem to get nearly the same amount of praise. I blame Sega of Japan and Sega of America's contrast of philosophies for tanking Sega's hope to conquer the console market.

If you're talking about the first image, it's Dark Seed a psychological horror point-and-click adventure game developed and published by Cyberdreams in 1992. It exhibits a normal world and a dark world counterpart, which is based on artwork by H. R. Giger. It was one of the first point-and-click adventure games to use high-resolution (640 350 pixels) graphics, to Giger's demand. A sequel, Dark Seed II, was released in 1995.

Sega of Japan was expecting everybody to code in Assembly like they did for their arcade titles.

Most everybody that wasn't a Sega First party, used C++ and a large library of tools to make games.

Ergo, Sega of Japan was behind the times and was slow to get the tools out to everybody near launch.

Ergo, it took a LONG time before 3rd Party developers were able to use the power of the Saturn, even then, it was hard.

Also, Saturn was the FIRST Dual-CPU Console in history, that made things ALOT harder to program during an era of Single-Threaded programming that was the paradigm.

I'm looking forward to when Retro-Bit releases the BIG6 controller, that is officially approved by Sega.

I concur.

The Super Jewel Box design was superior to the classic Jewel Case.

But they were a few pennies more expensive than the Classic Jewel Case, so those won out.

And too many companies used the wrong size Classic Jewel Case for their products, wasting needless amounts of plastic, fuel, shelf space.

There were 3x Types of Classic Jewel Case, most product makers used the largest one because they wanted to be "Wasteful" and have more presence on the shelf.

1) Original = 10 mm
2) CD-Single = 7 mm
3) SlimCase = 5 mm

Think about how much shelf space you could've saved if you used the right case for each product.

Don't apologize. Not everyone saw the topic last time. Its nice seeing them. Sometimes I forget that Saturn had games. It felt like such a blip. I don't even know anyone who owned one.

Jealous that the Saturn is better than the Wii

On the one hand you don't have BUG! or Clockwork Knight, but on the other hand you do have Virtua Fighter Kids which was a blast, and I don't have.

I honestly had no interest in a Saturn until I learned that 2/3rds of the library was only released in Japan. Then I started to look at those games and was like wow no wonder the Saturn was a big hit over there. Xmen vs Street Fighter wasn't even released in the US which is crazy.
