For 3x scenes that required it due to circumstances 1) Was for the Droid to heal / apply bacta to Mando to save his life. 2) Was to infiltrate a Imperial Remnant Base and he needed to show his face to pass Biometric Security scans 3) Was because of Grogu / Baby Yoda wanted to see his "Adopted Father's" face before he left on his journey with Master Luke. Outside of that, he left it on the entire time.
