there was a lot more crud in there, too. took me about half an hour to clear out but now the water goes straight down.

the last time i let mine get that bad, the clog ate away at the seal of the stopper's ball joint and it started leaking after i cleaned it out =/

Anyways, TC I use this highly toxic shit called Liquid Fire. I have never had a stopped drain it hasn't fixed. That said, it's so toxic if you use to much without flushing it could eat through certain drains.

I had a plumber use this shit once I'm pretty sure, worked well enough. I bet if the previous tenant shoved a bunch of drugs down that drain it would have just ate through it, night and day difference lol.

This is why you don't trim your pubes over the sink.

I had a sink that was slow to drain and yeah took out the U-Pipe thing and saw a whole lot of gunk and hair. Put it back and it was just as bad anyway. Luckily I ordered a plunger and that fixed it. Must have been a bit further down.

At least damp clogs of hair is one of those things that I know is gross but doesn't trigger my gag reflex so it wasn't too bad.

yeah, in my case the "seal" was just friction between two parts. but one of the parts was metal, and the clog corroded it enough that the connection wasn't even anymore. the clog itself was enough to keep water from coming through (or at least, enough for me not to see any drips), but once it was out, it drained through the gaps enough to need replaced.
