Everyone seems kinda down on it like "OMG There was no secret government plan for Vault-Tec to make their ultra version of The T-Virus out of aliens by experimenting on us!"

But that's not what the game was about, it never was. It was a human story about human connection between 2(3) broken people. The fact that the situation was the creation of their own paranoia and wasn't that exetreme, just purely human was the entire point.

I mean if you met with Delilah, she was super pretty and you boinked her brains out before walking off into the sunset , that would be dumb.

IF you and Ned had a swordfight on a cliff edge with the raging fire beneath you, that would be dumb.

Sure I got quibbles.

Why the fuck was Delilah so angry about you asking her why you're talking shit about you to the other lookouts at the start.

Why does the game go out of its way to establish Delilah can see the government camp from her lookout and would have blatantly seen Ned set it on fire only to then make the plot that she wasn't aware of it. That's a lazy hack writing way to make you distrust her.

Why was Ned even literally transcribing every word you said to each other on a clipboard? What would he have done if his ambush failed? And you just spun round and saw him?

But the ending was pretty much perfect for what it was.

A game where you never see anyone's face and are just left with your thoughts.
