I've seen people say this or similar things like this all the time since I came on the Internet. It's quite a narcissistic trait if you ask me because it's literally saying only what you know is real and what others say are fake because you've never heard about it yet.

Just yesterday I made a topic about "female main characters" and a few people accused me of making that term up prolly because they had never seen it used that way before.

Another example is a year ago I have learned the term "monolith" can also mean "all the same". Specifically "We are not a monolith" means "We are not all the same". I started using that term on other forums and there were people who acted like I was making that shit up because they have never heard of that term before.

Stop making things up.
