Just saw it, thought it was great. Absolutely love the facial expressions for Mei in red panda form. I still can't belive there are people going "I'm clearly not the target demographic/it wasn't made for me" lol

I don't really get it either, but then I'm part of that "young millennial" demo. I think it's relatable to anyone who had to deal with parental expectations. Encanto had a similar type of crossover appeal and I don't think I heard that complaint with that movie. Part of it is LMM songs doing some work but....

It was pretty good, though I wanted it to be better. I liked the mom and Miriam's characters more than Mei, and could've done without the whole Tyler's party subplot. Ultimately I think it tried to do too many things in one movie; I wasn't sure when a scene was meant to be serious or lighthearted, and the pacing needed more room to breathe. But it felt authentic and did clutch the ending, which is what matters the most to me!
