I don't think it would be that hard of a sell. The main contenders would be Keaton...and pretty much Keaton. Nobody goes to bat for Van Kilmer or Clooney. Most people thought Bale was fantastic as Bruce Wayne, but I don't recall many singing his praises as Batman. He's a phenomenal Batman (and probably the most accurate since he actually adheres to his no killing philosophy 100% and does actual detective work) but don't expect much from his Bruce Wayne since at this point in his career, his Bruce Wayne persona is virtually nonexistent. --- I have nothing else to say ...
