The whole thing about Dark Souls games (correct me if I'm wrong) is that you're basically an ordinary person and you're up against beings that are way beyond your abilities and you have to muddle through. That's why you've always had fairly ordinary-ish weapons and you get tired and staggered easily.

Dante is a straight up monster though. He's demonstrated more supernatural ability in a single cutscene than all the bosses in dark souls put together.

Just for perspective... it's almost impossible to kill cutscene Dante. You can literally impale him through the chest multiple times, and he'll just casually walk over to his jukebox, grab a slice of pizza, and kick all your assess with your own weapons sticking out of his limbs.

(Mild DMC3 spoilers, it's basically the first cutscene in the game)

A game full of enemies that struggle with a simple dodge roll aren't even going to get a foot in the door against trickster dodges and royal guard.
