Besides those being lactose intolerant you have hormones and anti biotics to deal with as well. Not to mention it still has a decent amount of sugar. You can get calcium, vitamin d from plenty of other sources as well.
Yup.

I very rarely drink milk but when I do, it has to be grass fed milk. The flavor profile reminds me of the milk I had when I lived on a farm as a little kid.

Only non dairy milk I like is authentic coconut milk which is found in international food aisle or in Asian grocery stores.

I tried this one today. I won't say it tastes "just like dairy" because it has been years since I last had dairy but out of all the plant milks I've had, this one stands out as most similar to it, in taste and mouthfeel. I wasn't the biggest fan of the taste of dairy, so I had to force myself to finish this small glass. It would be good for cereal or with cookies though.

Oatley is good as hell, and I haven't even tried the full-fat variety which I'm sure is even better. I just use soy milk on my cereal instead though, because more protein

There's another brand of oat milk I tried that was kinda gross though, came in a big pear-shaped jug (light blue label iirc?), hopefully not too many people weren put off oat milk by that shit

I gave up dairy milk for almond milk about 8 years ago, mainly for health reasons. I don't really use milk for anything other than putting it in cereal so it wasn't a big deal to me. I've noticed though that on the rare occasion when I do have cow's milk it tastes sweet to me now for some reason. I never noticed that when I was using it regularly.

I've noticed the same since switching.
The reason is because cow milk has a ton of sugar, I mean it's designed to make calves big and fat after all

12g per 8oz serving is not even close to "a ton of sugar." That's the same as any sweetened plant-based drink.

Strange point to make, you might as well say "it's the same as any soda"
Sweetened drinks have sugar added, yes. Sometimes a lot.

For perspective, the AHA suggests no more than 36g for an adult male per day

You're doubling down and you're still getting it totally wrong. Sodas have more than double the sugar than milk per serving, and in fact a single 12oz can exceeds the arbitrary 36 gram limit. Best you quit arguing before you say more stuff that is incorrect.

36g isn't arbitrary just because you say so, kiddo. The AHA simply has more clout and credibility than you, a random internet whogivesashit.

And saying a drink made of sugar has just over double the sugar per volume as milk is not quite the defense of milk you think it is.

You also missed one key point: AHA is discussing added sugars. Plain milk has zero added sugar. Q.E.D.

Most animals are smart enough to eventually stop drinking milk altogether, and sugar is the least worrisome reason.

The reason added sugar is particularly bad is because it isn't buffered by naturally-occurring fiber (as in fruit), which is why fruit juice is bad but whole fruit isn't. Milk, of course, has no fiber.

Milk has fat and protein to slow down sugar. The sugar in milk is also just lactose which takes a long time to absorb compared to generic fruit juice. Its a terrible comparison.

Fat and protein are not as vital nor impactful enough to slow down and regulate absorption of sugar as starches and dietary fiber are. Energy is the thing the body is most concerned about. Protein has the least amount of energy of the 3 macros and is the least important. Milk is full of saturated fat and cholesterol, and because it's an animal product it has no dietary fiber to slow down the absorption of the glucose and galactose molecules if lactose is broken down. It is key knowing that most people after infancy actually lose the enzyme that splits lactose into galactose and glucose, which is why about 70% of the world's population is lactose intolerant. So milk as a product is actually an inferior choice for nutrition compared to fruit juice. The juice, by virtue of not having any fat and cholesterol and not hitting your digestive system with a cellular-level wrecking ball, makes it already better than milk at pure baseline, and then you add a tiny amount of fiber and all the vitamins and minerals, and it's not even a contest... that's why most mammals are smart enough to get off milk. It's not meant for adolescents that are already done growing, it's meant for babies to signal a rapid growth spurt so that they can become an adolescent and switch to their normal diet.

But in every situation, it's always better to just have the actual fruit instead of the juice, because the fruit contains more fiber, where most of the nutrition is stored anyways. And again, most people don't meet close to half of their daily recommended intake of fiber, and that's because their diets contain too many animal products, oils and refined carbohydrates, and not enough whole plant foods that contain starches and fibers.
