I always hated Lylat Cruise TBH. Like since its debut in Brawl.

Give me some advice, dawg.

Rob is on the slower end and doesn't have great disjoints, so you have the advantage spacing him out. You want to hold center stage and pressure him towards the ledge so he doesn't have room to run back gyro. If he jumps to try and escape corner pressure he's vulnerable to juggling, just be on the ball so you don't get caught with FF nair. Don't bother trying to edgeguard when you get him offstage, just ledge trap and hold stage positioning. Trying to corner Rob is your win condition. He can press advantage and edgeguard you better than you can do to him, so you need to do your best to keep him trapped and scared to leave the corner, and push your juggling situations as far as you can.

I like all of this. It jives with this Ned set I'm watching right now. He doesn't go off-stage at all and just tries to trap him when he tries to recover. I really need to practice my ledge down-airs for those ROBs who like to hang out and take forever grabbing the ledge. I am VERY BAD at hitting those.

Also I need to fucking not neutral B AT ALL or I'm gonna eat it from the reflector he has.

When I get shadow flare on him do I want to get really aggressive?

Sure you can run up and threaten grab them. Generally you just want to position at sword length and go for shield pokes but if you're forcing him to hold shield with your side B you might as well take advantage

And going for ledge dairs is the exact opposite of what you should do. That's what I was trying to say before lol. A good rob will hold jump and mixup their low recovery to punish you for going for that, you have less ability to vary your timings than they do. That's why you just control the space right by the ledge so they have no recourse to get back on. If you commit to a dair you're ruining your positional advantage

Trying to mental run through my ongoing crisis...let me type it out and see if it helps.

Shulk
Pros:
-My strongest character when I'm playing at my best
-Has few bad matchups
Cons:
-Inconsistent
-Options become more limited once people learn his Nair/Fair spacing

Ike
Pros:
-My most consistent character
-Have been using him since Brawl, lots of experience
Cons:
-Struggles against people who know how to play against him
-Some truly awful matchups

Robin
Pros:
-Overall I just vibe with him
-Works well against melee-heavy opponents
Cons:
-Straight-up not a good character overall
-Does very poorly against projectiles

Sora
Pros:
-Won't SD when you lag buffer an airdodge offstage
-Strong midrange zoning
Cons:
-Less experience with him
-Gets blown up by people with heavy attacks

I've also been trying to make Chrom and Joker work to not much success.
