From reviews, harder than dark souls, easier than sekiro, so on par with bloodborne I'd wager. Lot of reviews have mentioned some of the bosses are among the hardest souls borne bosses.

Seems to depend on how thoroughly you explore from what I gather.

Sekiro was on the verge of being cruel because any mistake was usually lethal.

I would say from a purely survival standpoint this is one of the more forgiving Souls games, if not necessarily the easiest.

I loved Bloodborne but Sekiro was just too much for me. What makes you say it's easiest? I hear it has some of the hardest bosses.

Still difficult but the open world allows you to go find better gear/level up if youre ever stuck on an encounter.

it doesn't start you off feeling ridiculously weak, as some of the other games do.

so it ends up feeling more level, i think. less of an intro curve.

Harder than Sekiro, easier than any other Dark Souls game.

But the best one so far IMO

Pretty easy compared to DS3. The first 2 enemy "bosses" felt like tutorials but maybe that's just the game tricking players into letting their guard down.

Sekiro was occasionally infuriating. I never felt that way about the others, except for when I first started Bloodborne (the first FromSoftware I played)

In what universe is Dark Souls harder than Sekiro?

People have forgotten the scourge of "games so easy they literally play themselves" in the 2000's. It was a decade of those awful games that resulted in Demon's Souls.

How is it compared to a game like Nioh? That's the only game that has ever pissed me off to the point that I traded it in before getting close to finishing it

Sekiro was hard but, once you understood the mechanics it became a joke. None of the Souls games are hard once you understand the mechanics. But, tbf, whatever souls game is your first is always the hardest.

Mine was Dark Souls and that made me rage. Now I can beat it easily.

I need to try Nioh again. It frustrated me because the difficultly felt more unfair. Dying in Dark Souls and Bloodborne always felt like my fault. In Nioh, it often seemed cheap.

its not. Sekiro is hardest. Elden ring is harder than all the dark souls but not as hard as sekiro.

You literally become invulnerable by rhythmically tapping L1, no other Souls game has such a powerful defensive measure.

You kind of originally phrased it the exact opposite way. But good to know

I think bosses are more punishing but the game is overall easier than other Souls because of different mechanics. It feels like it's been balanced around you summoning NPCs or other players and gives you ample opportunity to do so, and horse combat completely trivializes most enemies where having the mobility to avoid huge area attacks was the hardest part (trolls, etc.)

Absolutely my experience too because initially, it's not challenging at all to just replicate your skills and experience from Souls to Nioh but there would be bullshit like some enemies having unlimited stamina or being immune to stagger attacks when they should.

Dying in Elden Ring on the other hand, is indeed 100% your goddamn fault for not learning your lessons about enemy behavior and tactics.

You become invulnerable by simply holding L1 with a shield in Souls
