I once purchased a camper van off of Craigslist for 800 bucks to use as storage so that I could get all my boxes and shit out of my apartment (drove my girlfriend nuts).

The landlord gave us access to a parking structure, and the van was significantly cheaper than storage.

After just two days the van was towed by police, because they thought it belonged to a homeless person.

Ever since then Ive kind of viewed driving in SF as a crutch. I still purchase cars sometimes, mostly out of boredom, then try to flip them.

However, I went many years without any vehicle at alljust never needed one. City life is very walkable and not having to worry about parking tickets, street cleaning, and vandalism is a virtue. Looking forward to going back to that life.
