The news is bullshitting about a lot of it. Odds are a large amount of communication coming from Ukraine is getting shut down, so I doubt there's going to be anyone posting from there. This is probably the best info you're going to get at the moment.

He's a former CIA analyst. He runs a group with a bunch of other retired spooks. A lot of his info comes from active contacts, and his own analysis with whatever they can still access in the civilian world. I know they rent agricultural satellites for example. If you don't want to believe it, nobody's forcing you.

I think we can pretty safely have another 50 years of media showing the Russians evil warmongers. Since it's basically true.

But we can't actually hold the Russian people themselves accountable. Their own government has already promised to arrest (which means kill quietly) anyone that protests the war.

They can both violently suppress dissent while also having a large portion of the population be brainwashed nationalists. Both cases can be true.

I don't think Russia can be dealt with in a way that allows its population to prosper economically. Protecting the people of Ukraine and other eastern European nations should take priority.

Basically need them to fall apart on their own like East Germany. Cut them off from everything.

But we are too chicken to do that. It might raise gas prices and hurt people's precious SUVs. Sacrifice for the good of the world isn't a thing anymore as covid already proved.

Apparently Biden is about to announce something similar.

The obvious thing to do would be to kick them off SWIFT. I doubt it will actually happen though. =/

Gee, when has not questioning the media ever led to problems? You know, besides Operation Iraqi Freedom, Desert Storm, and literally any number of military conflicts where flagrant lies were used to justify a military response? But no, let's go with your claim about the media being completely honest. They'd never, say, interview a diplomat's daughter who claimed to be a nurse who witnessed babies being killed in hospitals. Granted, I'm not sure what the video is about, but as a general rule, fake news has been a US government tactic for justifying all sorts of shit.

Which is working so great in Afghanistan where the US has contributed to a humanitarian crisis which is driving another refugee crisis. Or any other nation where our foreign policy decimated the population while doing nothing to achieve our agenda (but North Korea will fall any day now!).

But yeah, maybe the US government should attempt to get its pyrrhic victory so it can face a reckoning from US voters who'll shitcan everybody, choosing to elect nothing but political outsiders critical of US foreign policy. Hell, maybe I'll even get elected.

I've seen a few of their videos and though I can't speak to their specific credentials, they seem pretty legit with actual sources for the intelligence they are producing.

Source: I'm 36 and a retired Operator for the Phone Company. The churn is nuts, especially since they started contracting a lot of things out that really should have been kept in house.

The Canadian media has been doing a decent enough job though a CNN reporter did have Russian paratroopers land behind him during his live shot, and he talked to them briefly on air.

The Maidan Square live feed is down :(
