...Russia successfully takes over Ukraine. It simply spells out to all other world leaders that there is NO consequence they can fear for annexing other smaller countries now. So far it's pretty much only the US going against Russia...yet again.

China, which has been so precariously on the edge, of mounting an invasion of Taiwan would see the Ukrainian invasion as a very good pre-text for their own invasion plan.

What's stopping a bigger country from swallowing up a smaller country if they can face no damn consequences??

Sanctions? Russia doesnt give a s*** about that anymore. They've been under so many sanctions already and probably have their ways of bypassing the measures anyway. Criticism by other world leaders? Yeah sure, going to a mic and saying, "I condone their actions" is soooo effective

This is pretty much the world in the past. Empires were just expanding and expanding, taking over territories and slaughtering anyone in their path.

Is this the path we're heading back to as humanity?
