I get that it's for emphasis but it's already such a heinous topic that it doesn't need that kind of vulgarity on top of it. I find it unnecessarily gross for any point that could be made in a discussion about it and probably at least a little bit insensitive.

Yeah I get what you mean. People who say it like that or post #3 do seem like they're going for either shock value or downplaying the horror of it

Agreed. Any kind of euphemism seems inappropriate.

There's that but I've also seen a lot of people here use it in a very nonchalant manner in an otherwise serious discussion that makes it obvious they recognize the severity of it. IMO it doesn't line up to rightfully admonish someone for sketchy views around the subject while speaking so crassly of the act and those who experience it.

But I say this as someone who has not experienced, so maybe I'm off base.
